The Rockable and Butler

The Rockable is a wooden stool. The prototype was launched at the exhibition, Walk the Plank I in 1999, where participants were assigned the task of creating a piece of furniture for sitting on from a plank measuring 3 x 10 x 120 inches. The Rockable is made of 37 rods fastened to a round base. The rods end in knobs that constitute the seat of the stool. The stool has a finely curved shape and is slightly flexible. Sandgren Jakobsen now presents a hat stand in the same series, easy to move and beautiful to look at. The hat stand is a sculptural 'clothes tree' inspired by flower stamens and the midwife's wooden stethoscope.
