Kirsten Trojel Fribert
b. 1964, Danish Textile Designer
Fribert graduated from Kunsthåndværkerskolen i Kolding in 1994. Her prints have a simple graphic expression and are particularly concerned with combinations of colors, patterns and pressure. Each print is stringently composed and often full of contrast. Fribert uses the soft shapes of her prints, the colors, and the lightness of her graphics to create a positive atmosphere in the room. Thus her textiles merge texture and decoration to provide an aesthetic experience of presence when relating to the surfaces of her textile images. Fribert also works for industrial companies, designing bed linen for Dunlopillo and selling her textile designs at the Indigo Fair to companies like Armani and Donna Karan. She has participated in a number of exhibitions, including the censored exhibition KE Kunstnernes Efterårsudstilling at Charlottenborg, Copenhagen. Her artistic work has been acknowledged with several grants, including the Danish Arts Foundation and Gades Legat. | By same artist: |
