Berry Sphere NecklaceJulie Bach found the inspiration for the necklace in clusters of berries. She strives to reproduce the suppleness and juiciness by means of form and colour. The berry necklace was created after Julie Bach had made a berry-tree, a textile sculpture, for a friend’s wedding. ‘The symbolism of joy, fertility, maturity, power and vigour that caught my interest in the expression of the berries was perfect for a gift of love.” Buy here: www.juliebachprodukter.blogspot.com |
Julie Bach
b. 1979, Danish jewellery designer
Julie Bach has a bachelor’s degree in fashion design from the Kolding School of Design from 2002. That same year she took part in the combined exhibition and workshop ’designer upside down’ at Tsing Hua University in Beijing, China, and in 2008 she took part in the Artists’ Easter Exhibition in the Aarhus Art Building with the installation ’Rodskulptur’ (Root Sculpture). Julie Bach is driven by an urge to explore life as it unfolds around her and to turn little narratives into form. She may become fascinated with a form or a structure that she wants to reproduce. She then experiments with ways to achieve this. Human psychological extremes and contrasts can also be the point of departure for her work, as she explores a character feature and converts it to form. Julie Bach’s work is tactile, carefully handmade, has sensory appeal and is humorous, playful, narrative, experimental and surprising. |
