Cozza & Lift-Up Tray

Cozza is a box in cedar wood, Perspex and aluminium that functions as a business card holder. The box has been shaped with a milling cutter, brushed and finished by hand. The materials used for the box appear very dissimilar: The Perspex is transparent, coloured and shiny, while the wood is soft, brushed and natural with a pleasant scent. The playful approach to the materials and the encounter of perfection and imperfection confirm that two contrasting materials can go together well, their differences elegantly highlighting the qualities and character of both materials. Anders Lunderskov has created a functional object that is pleasant to touch, and which also appeals to the senses of touch and scent. Cozza measures 1.8 x 6.8 x 11 cm and is available in opaque white, charcoal grey and orange.

Lift-up is a practical and decorative tray in oven-dried linden wood and cherry wood veneer. When it is picked up, a lacquered solid wooden frame emerges, and the tray is ready to go. When it is set down, a beautiful cherry wood surface is revealed. Thus, the tray can be used both for serving purposes and as a decorative object for the table. The Lift-up tray is based on inspiration from several countries. The tight, simple lines are inspired by Japan, the functional aspects by Denmark, and the contrasts by Italy. This dynamic tray is easy to use and clean and comes in both a round and a square version, measuring, respectively, Ø: 43 cm, H: 5.5 cm and 43 cm x 43 cm x 5.5 cm. Both trays have a cherry wood base and are available with frames in black, white, orange or turquoise. ”Lift-up” was purchased by MoMA in 2007.

Anders Lunderskov

b. 1961, Danish Furniture Desinger

Lunderskov trained as a cabinetmaker with A.J. Iversen in 1985. The following year, he began working at the Museum of Art and Industry in Lyon, where he furnished the museum’s textile department. Since 1989, he has had his own workshop in Milan with a client list that includes Prada and Kohseki in Japan. Anders Lunderskov also participated in a previous Crafts Collection, the CC11.He usually finds inspiration in nature, both flora and fauna, and in his work he strives to achieve a fusion of idea and material. Thus, a new work is shaped through direct work on the materials, usually wood and metal. Lunderskov strives for a pure and simple design, harmony of materials, and silky surface treatments that give his works life and spirit. He has exhibited around the world, including Milan, New York and Chicago. In 2000, he participated in the exhibition “Mesterværker” (Master Pieces) at Kronborg Castle in Elsinore.
