Hagen majored in glass and ceramics and graduated from Danmarks Designskole in 1998. Hagen designs both ceramics and glass and has carried out assignments for Holmegaard and Normann Copenhagen. Her pro-ducts are characterized by the little details that make the difference, and her work is distinctly inspired by the simple, stringent Nordic tradition. Hagen works both with one-off pieces and industrial design. Of special interest are her 'fossils in sanded glass' or her 'Sømærke' carafe made from clear blown glass and rubber. Her works are represented at the Danish Museum of Decorative Art and Kunstforeningen af 14. august. She was awarded the silver medal of Kunsthåndværkerprisen af 1879 before completing her training, which is highly unusual.
